“Krinjabo, now a town in southeastern Ivory Coast near Ghana, was established as a kingdom in the early eighteenth century when the Anyi peoples migrated there from Ghana. Clay heads and figures commemorating deceased members of the community are characteristic of this area, and were made by skilled women potters. The figures were placed with other funerary statue in special sanctuaries.
